YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!

Our vision is to identify and claim our God-given gifts and use them to reach the world with Christ’s good news.

We are a More Light congregation of Salem Presbytery in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) who have been loving our neighbors since 1961.

As a More Light congregation, we welcome and affirm ALL to our Community in Christ. More Light Presbyterians is a non-profit organization dedicated to allowing the full participation of LGBTQIA+ people in life, ministry, and witness of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and in society. You are welcome here, and you are loved.

what to expect on a sunday morning

We are a community of truly loving people of all ages who seek to follow Jesus and try to live into God’s dream for the world with justice and love in all that we do. Our Sunday morning worship is more traditional and liturgical - meaning we recognize and honor the traditions of historic reformed Christian worship while not being bound to them. We’d love to have you join us!

On Sundays you are invited to come just the way you are.

Here’s what we do:

Childcare | Education Wing | 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Children are welcome in worship for all or part of the service; their comfort is our concern. Baskets with activity bags are in the narthex if they wish. If your child needs to play and move around you are invited to walk them to our Prayground near the front of the sanctuary, or you are welcome to take them to the Nursery at any time if that’s your preference. Our professional child-care provider is supported by our members living into their vows to nurture our children in the faith.

Christian Formation | 9:45 am
We gather for multi-generational Christian Formation on Sunday mornings in the Library from Fall to Spring. Sometimes it’s a discussion about scripture, sometimes it’s an activity to help us explore our own spirituality, it’s always something to help us deepen our relationship with God.

Worship | 11:00 am (In-person in the Sanctuary and Virtually almost anywhere)
The sanctuary is accessible from either side of the drive. Choose a door and come in. You will be welcomed. Sit anywhere. Even if we usually sit there, we'll make room. We're happy to have you!

Our worship leans traditional, but variety abounds as members share their gifts. From organ to hammered dulcimer, traditional sermons to drama and art, we use all we have been given. We sing from a hymnal and use bulletins to guide our worship experience. We strive to make our bulletins as inclusive as we can. Please let us know if you would prefer a large print or low contrast bulletin!

We love children at Forest Hills. If you have a child with you feel free to grab a Worship Bag and help them follow along the service creatively and tangibly. We also have a prayground right in the sanctuary and a nursery available if you wouldprefer. Please note we love the sounds and wiggles of the kids who join us!
